Recently, I chronographed Liberty Civil Defense 60 grain round from my Glock 20 and Glock 40. Advertised velocity is 2400 ft/s. I got 2350 ft/s. That's about 850 ft/s faster than a hot 10mm load. The Glock 20 has a 4.61" barrel. Below is from a stock Glock 20 with a DPM Systems Technology captured recoil spring. |
This is what firing a LCDef round looks like indoors with no filters, a $250 smart phone, and no photoshop/photo editing.
From the Glock 40, with a KKM Match 10mm, 6", threaded barrel with Carver Custom 'Decelerator" 4-Port for 10mm. The Guide Rod and Spring Assembly is from NDZ is rated at 24 lbs. When firing the 60 grain Liberty Civil Defense round, the recoil is so soft that this configuration has difficulty going back into full battery.
When chronographed, the LCDefense round clocked in at 2570 ft/s. That's 879.77 ft/lbs of muzzle energy.
That velocity is up in .308 range.
