Finally got in the MechTech CCU for Glock 20. My model has the threaded barrel. I attached a Lone Wolf 10mm compensator (LWD-COMP10) using blue LockTite. The LW Comp comes with a set screw. It hit the threads. So LockTite. I also have the flip up sites, quad rails, 6 position butt-stock.
I set up the Competition Electronics Pro Chrono DLX at 7 feet from the muzzle. I tested with some reloads and then some S&B 10mm 180 grain JHP. Then it was time for the Liberty Civil Defense 10mm, 60 grains.
Here's the results:
That's 2872 FPS and 1098 Foot Pounds. Average is 2865 ft/s.
.308 Speeds and Energy.
Same feet per second, with 1/3 the energy. But the 308 150 gr round is 2.5x heavier. Ergo, the energy is 2.41x that of the 60 grain round. Who knew you could have .308 velocity and equivalent for weight rounds dispensed from a 10mm?
Bullet mass/type | Velocity | Energy |
---|---|---|
125 gr (8 g) Spitzer | 3,100 ft/s (940 m/s) | 2,668 ft⋅lbf (3,617 J) |
150 gr (10 g) Nosler tip | 2,820 ft/s (860 m/s) | 2,648 ft⋅lbf (3,590 J) |
168 gr (11 g) BTHP | 2,650 ft/s (810 m/s) | 2,700 ft⋅lbf (3,700 J) |
175 gr (11 g) BTHP | 2,645 ft/s (806 m/s) | 2,619 ft⋅lbf (3,551 J) |
Seems like it would have been much nicer to have more than just 3 data points.
I agree. Had I not shot the chronograph with a 220 grain hard cast bullet, I would. But that one inch low shot went straight through. Fortunately for me, my credit card used for purchase, has a accident/loss/damage insurance policy. $134.95 may not seem like much to others, but I'll need another Devalue the Dollar check from the gubba-ment in order to get another.
Do I carry Liberty Civil Defense for EDC/SD/HD? Yes. Do they pay, sponsor, remunerate, or buy my love in any way? No. And with my ETS 30 round magazine, I think I may have a very nice Pig Pokin' Stick.
Update #1:
I filed a claim with American Express for their Buyer's Protection Plan on May 3rd for the damaged chronograph. The response was "give us two days, you will get an email with our decision." Well, I received no email. So when I called today, representative said, "Your claim is closed." I said, "Ok, why?" Rep says, "Well, looks like claim was already paid. Paid one hour after you submitted it."
Amazing. So back in chrono business. Will attempt to get more data without shooting my own equipment.
